Norwich's Teemu Pukki is already a fantasy football legend

Elsewhere, Arsenal fans don't seem OK and it looked like Hamilton's whole team were sent off.

We’re not even a month into the new football season and already we’ve had enough drama to fill an entire campaign.

While VAR continues to confuse and astound fans up and down the country, there was some actual football played in between all of the stoppages to check the referees’ decisions.

It might be too early to win a league title but it definitely seems late enough to feel like you’ve lost one as the new season continues to take shape.

Here’s what people have been saying about the weekend’s action on Twitter...

1) Are Arsenal fans OK?

After a few years down in the dumps, the mood around Arsenal has changed over the last month or so following the release of some beautiful new kits for this season and one of their most successful transfer windows in years.

Defeat to Liverpool at the weekend might not have helped maintain the good vibes, but might it be a much-needed reality check?

2) Home away from home

Crystal Palace’s home may be in south London, but their heart lies on the road.

Roy Hodgson’s men showed again that they are more comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings, as they bagged a late winner at Old Trafford to beat Manchester United on Saturday.

Of course, (small caveat) this was actually Palace's first league victory at Old Trafford since 1989.

And it wasn’t just the players who were on form at the weekend, with the Palace Twitter account making up for last weekend’s slip-up.

3) We all dream of a team o’ Teemus

Teemu Pukki is quickly becoming the neutral’s favourite player in the Premier League, as the Norwich striker has proven that it's even more fun to watch him play football than it is to say his name.

The Finnish striker’s exploits so far this season have already seen him become a legend among fantasy football players - hitting that sweet spot of low outlay, big points tally.

4) There’s no 'i' in team

Look, we’re not saying that Hamilton are a one-man team, but it can look that way sometimes...

5) Sticky situation for the Toffees

Once again, Everton have got off to a slow start, despite all of the praise for their business over the summer. At this point, you’ve only got yourself to blame if you believed this year would be different.

6) The people’s champs

Ipswich celebrated in style - with a nod to WWE fans - as they smashed troubled Bolton for five goals to go top of League One.

7) Meanwhile, in Scotland...

While English teams are getting more creative in their use of celebratory videos and gifs, there’s nowhere better for capturing the pure unadulterated joy of a goal than Scotland, with both Morton and Livingston showing how it’s done.

8) A cautionary tale

If you think fantasy football can be cruel in the Premier League, fantasy managers in Spain have to consider that one of their players might get booked without even making it onto the pitch.

Looks like this post is no longer available from its original source. It might've been taken down or had its privacy settings changed.

9) You can take the midfielder out of Sunderland...

The world is a completely different place to the one it was even five years ago, but amid all the change there’s one thing you can always count on for a sense of stability: Lee Cattermole getting booked.

That makes it the 124th yellow card of his career

10) Don’t bury Bury

As Bury continue their battle to stay alive, it was nice to see one of the most iconic clubs in the sport picking up their cause and sharing it to an audience outside of England.

The campaign has been taken up fans across the country as supporters everywhere hope a solution can be found for the club, which has been around since 1885.
