Nev from The Call Centre thinks Donald Trump is a 'legend'

Nev Wilshire, the star of BBC Three's 'The Call Centre', just called Donald Trump an "absolute legend" on Radio 4's Today Programme, saying he thought he was the "only guy in Britain" who "agreed with everything Mr Trump is doing".

In a debate about phone call etiquette off the back of President Trump's 'worst call' with Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull on the weekend, Wilshire congratulated the President on his no-nonsense approach with world leaders.

Nev explained his own unique philosophy, which he imparts to his call centre staff when they don't get what they want on the phone.

Words that could have come from the President himself.

Nev said he "agreed with everything Mr Trump is doing", calling him "a good businessman" who has "been straight and hasn't fudged anything", "sticking to his guns".

President Trump hailed his call with the Australian PM the "worst by far" after disagreeing on a policy which would see up to 1,250 asylum seekers in Australia relocated to the US. The deal was struck by the Obama administration, and Trump later tweeted that he would "study this dumb deal" and that accepting the refugees would be like the US accepting "the next Boston bombers", who were from the Caucasus region of Russia.

Wilshire hasn't been a stranger to controversy either. Back in 2015, one of his companies was fined £500,000 over the death of a pensioner by carbon monoxide poisoning after they breached health and safety protocol when installing wall insulation. He found himself in the dock last year too after failing to register a new business with the Information Commissioner's Office in India.
